The Norwegian Nobel Committee has decided to award the  Nobel Peace Prize for 2017  to the  International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN) . The organization is receiving the award for its work to draw attention to the catastrophic humanitarian consequences of any use of nuclear weapons and for its ground-breaking efforts to achieve a treaty-based prohibition of such weapons

The Dayton International Peace Museum is celebrating the Nobel Peace Prize Laureate, The International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN) with a special luncheon, a keynote address, and a celebration of all Peace Museum donors, volunteers, and friends. Everyone is welcome to join us at Sinclair Community College, Building 12, Charity Early Room on Saturday December 9th at noon.  Luncheon tickets are just $20. Museum volunteers are free.

 The luncheon will include the opportunity to buy one of a kind artwork included Charlotte Paugh's beautiful quilts and New York artist Brad Heckman's original, signed prints.
