Volunteer Fair Slated for Today

Join us on Saturday, May 13, from 9am to 11am to learn more about volunteering with the Dayton International Peace Museum. The Museum will be honoring current volunteers and welcoming people interested in helping in all aspects of the day-to-day operation of the nation's only peace museum.

Do you want to help run the nation's only peace museum?

Do you have a few hours a month to give to the museum? Giving tours and highlighting the special exhibits and the permanent collections are only one job at the museum.  The museum is in need of volunteers interested in helping to raise awareness of the museum, write and secure grants, network with other peace-oriented groups, plant flowers, read to children, speak to groups, mentor young people, organize the library, dust shelves, greet guests, and hundreds of other large and small jobs.

Monthly lectures, discussions, and events

Volunteers are involved both behind the scenes at events, and as docents, giving tours to groups and individuals during our normal Wednesday through Sunday, 1-5 schedule and occasionally for special appointments. Volunteers lend their talents in multiple ways throughout the museum's physical and virtual online location.

Volunteers share their talents with us

Volunteers plan major museum and traveling exhibits, plan fundraisers, dinners, organize speakers, book clubs, discussion groups, meditation classes, mentor youth and children's groups and camps, and network with like-minded organizations in the Miami Valley and across the world.
