PEACE MADE ONE CHILD AT A TIME
YOUNG MUSLIM MENS ASSOCIATION, ALEXANDRIA,
EGYPT
September 2006
From 9/19 to 9/27/2006 Steve Fryburg, the
museum director, and his wife Rose traveled with a peace delegation from the U.S.
Federation of Middle East Peace to Egypt.
On International Peace Day, Sept. 21st, Steve spoke at the Arab League
Headquarters in Cairo about the concept of peace museums, and the importance of
commemorating the people, organizations and principles of peace.
While in Alexandria Egypt the delegation had the pleasure of visiting the Young Muslim
Mens Association facility.

Young men and women can take advantage of athletics
programs, theatre, vocational training, a clinic, housing and more, all for
$1.20 per year.

Professional men volunteer their time to keep the facility operating smoothly
and provide positive role models.
Peace being made one child at time.
What a beautiful investment towards a peaceful future.
There are successful peace stories like this happening all over the world, but
we rarely hear about them.
We hear about the people who promote violence.
Killing, wars, hatred...dominates the news as if that is all we can expect
from our world, but everywhere there are people working to create a peaceful
future for tomorrows children , people wanting peace and working for peace.
Wanting to live and raise our children in
a peaceful world is a common desire of people everywhere.
We need to pay more attention to the peace
promoters.
Concentrate on the positive, not the negative.
"We
must be the change we wish to see."
