Urban Nights and Coffeehouse

Acoustic fingerstyle guitarist Eric Loy will headline the monthly coffeehouse on Friday, September 12. Open mic at 7:00; acoustic
guitar and vocals of Pat Coffey at 8:00 and Eric at 8:30. This month, Dayton’s downtown Urban Nights will begin at 5:00 p.m. Hot dogs on the lawn!

Open Mic opportunities are available and each month will showcase a feature performer.

Opportunities are available for those that wish to perform and to share their musical and poetic talents with the listeners.

The Peace Cafe Coffeehouse is a wonderful event. Admission is free and refreshments are provided.

Donations to the Museum are, of course, encouraged.

We are asking for music aficionados, art lovers and museum advocates to consider helping with the event, which is held on the 2nd Friday of each month.

We need volunteers to help with staffing the Museum and assisting with the Coffeehouse during the hours of 7pm to 9:30pm (possibly 10pm).

Donations of refreshments and appropriate edibles are always appreciated.

The next Coffeehouse will be held on

Friday, Sept 12th.

We invite you to be a part of the mission and the dream.

...hope to see you there!

What is the Peace Café?

The Peace Café is an extension of the Peace Museum. Often, you will find that the Museum will host performances of live music that enhance the message of Peace. The Peace Café is traditionally located at the Peace Museum. But more so, and in time, it is our hope that the Peace Café will evolve into a dynamic venue that travels to the people, hosted by your local coffeehouses, performance venues, etc. In other words, you won’t always have to come to the Museum; the Museum will come to you.

What can you expect of the Peace Cafe?

We promise quality performances of Folk Music, Poetry, Writings, Art and Dance. In the tradition of Coffeehouse music, the Peace Café will often present performances by Local and International Folk Musicians. Additionally we will many times offer, for your pleasure, alternative performances. The idea is to be a dynamic venue with something for everyone.

We invite you to be a part of the Peace Café. The Peace cafe provides Open Mic opportunities for you to present your music and message. Have you got a song, poem, a story or an interpretive dance for Peace? This is your opportunity to open your heart and share your message with others.

When is the Peace Café presented?

The Peace Cafe is presented on the 2nd Friday of the month at 7:00pm. Check the Peace Museum Website and Calendar: www.daytonpeacemuseum.org. Watch for local announcements in your newspaper and on radio. Subscribe to the monthly Peace Museum Newsletter.

Is it always about Peace?

The Peace Café strives to have focus on the message of Peace. But more so, the Peace Café invites performance from the heart. Themes relevant to an idea of brotherhood, humanity and of good nature are always welcome, as well as humor and comedy.

How to be involved?

Do you have something to share? Are you a musician, poet, writer or a performing artist? This is your opportunity. Do you have an idea for a place that may be willing to host a Peace Café event? Are you a venue or a business that is willing to host the Peace Café?
