IMAGES OF
PEACE
As part of the “Season for
Nonviolence”, January 30 – April 4, 2006, the
Peace
Museum
will display images of peace on four 12’ X 25’ billboards in the
Dayton
area. The billboards, which go up February 15th, will display
messages of nonviolence from famous peace advocates Dr. Martin L. King
Jr., Mother
Teresa, Gandhi, and
Albert
Einstein. They will give citizens a
moment to reflect on something other than the violent images they face
every day, a different way of looking at the world.
Locations
where the “Images of Peace” can be viewed are Keowee & Third,
Ludlow
& 5th, Gettysburg & Cornell, Smithville north of SR35.
In conjunction with this effort, Key Ads has graciously
agreed to donate billboard space for a student contest in the Dayton City
Schools. Students will be asked to create an artwork/advertisement that
promotes peace and/or nonviolence. The winning entry will be displayed on
a city billboard for one month. Other entries will be shown in an
exposition at the
Peace
Museum
, at a date to be set.
SPIRITUAL
PATHS TO PEACE
Speakers from various religions speak about peace.

Gift for the Library
The Museum Library received a wonderful gift of over 500 peace books from
Dr. Charles Chatfield of
Wittenberg
University
. We have an excellent selection of books, videos and audio products
related to peace, nonviolence, global issues and more. Items can be
borrowed for a two week period with proper identification. Eventually our
bibliography will be posted on our web site.
