F.O.R. Article: Offensive Cartoons: Respecting what is Sacred

Tolerance, noun: The capacity for or the practice of recognizing and respecting the beliefs or practices of others.

Tolerating the beliefs of others will make the world a much nicer place to live, but if you only tolerate another's religious views you limit your life experience, and chance to expand as a human being. Each person's journey to Adonai, Allah, Brahman, God, Elohim, Elot, Tao, Theos, Yahweh... the Universal Consciousness is their journey, the light is the same, just viewed from different perspectives.
"The world in which you were born is just one model of reality. Other cultures are not failed attempts at being you. They are unique manifestations of the human spirit."- Wade Davis

"I never told my own religion nor scrutinized that of another. I never attempted to make a convert, nor wished to change another's creed. I am satisfied that yours must be an excellent religion to have produced a life of such exemplary virtue and correctness. For it is in our lives, and not from our words, that our religion must be judged."
Thomas Jefferson, 1819

What is the definition of a human being?
....In the word "huma", "hu" represents spirit, and the word "mah" in Arabic means water. In English the word "human " explains two facts which are characteristic of humanity: "hu" means God and "man" means mind, which word comes from the Sanskrit "mana", mind being the ordinary person. The two words united represent the idea of the God-conscious person; in other words HU, God, is in all things and beings, but it is man by whom He is known. "Human" therefore may be said to mean God-conscious, God-realized, or God-man.

No world peace if no peace among religions says theologian Hans Kung

Bogota, 4 April (Ecumenical News International-ALC)--If there is not peace among religions,
there will be no peace in the world, Swiss-born theologian
Hans Kung has noted during an address during a week of ethics and
world peace in the capital city of Colombia. "The great religions
have the conditions necessary to mobilize people to support a
planetary ethic: defining moral objectives, proposing
instructions and criteria for action, motivating human beings
both rationally and emotionally, so that the moral norms may be
lived out in practice," said Kung. [375 words, ENI-07-0273]

Learn about other religions. It helps you understand who you are, and who are your global neighbors.
